English & Literature

PictureMrs. Julie Bates

My name is Mrs. Julie Bates, and I’m honored to serve as the High School English Language Arts teacher at Brunswick Christian Academy. I bring many years of experience teaching in both public and Christian school settings, and I’m passionate about helping students grow in their love for language, literature, and the Lord.

My family and I recently moved to Brunswick, GA, after my husband was called to serve as the pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. We’re grateful for this new chapter and the opportunity to be part of such a Christ-centered community.

I’m truly excited to join the dedicated team at BCA and to walk alongside students as they pursue academic excellence and seek God’s purpose for their lives.

Outside of the classroom, my husband and I are blessed with 8 wonderful children and 6 beautiful grandchildren. We enjoy reading, sipping coffee, and serving together in our church and local community.

She is a graduate of Auburn University and her teaching career has spanned a number of years in multiple secondary and adult education venues. During this time, she has taught Social Studies, Language Arts, French and Special Education. Mrs. Miller and her husband are active members of Frederica Baptist Church. Mathematics

PictureMrs. Susan Roberson
Mrs. Susan Roberson has been teaching here at Brunswick Christian Academy for 16 years. Her two children, Joshua and Cristen, began attending BCA at the start of 3rd and 2nd grades, and both graduated from BCA in 2010 and 2011. She and her husband have loved their experience as BCA parents, as well as the gift of having their children at work with them everyday. They were blessed by their children having outstanding teachers, many of whom are still here.

From elementary school, Mrs. Roberson discovered a love for mathematics. Now, nearly forty years later, she continues to enjoy discovering the beauty of mathematics surrounding us in God's creation and trying to inspire this same awe in others. To aid in this endeavor, she received a mathematics degree from College of Coastal Georgia and a teaching degree in secondary mathematics from Western Governors University.

Science

PictureMrs. Rebekah Lowe

Mrs. Lowe came from Lyons, Georgia to her first teaching position at Brunswick Christian Academy. She has been teaching here at BCA for 3 years. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Brewton Parker College, a Bachelor of Science from Saint Eustatius in the Netherland Antilles, and a Doctorate in Medicine from Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba.

While looking for a school for her son, she noticed that BCA needed to hire some new teachers. She had been wanting to work in a Christian environment so she applied to work here. BCA was a perfect match.

This is what she wrote when being interviewed by the newspaper staff. "I love BCA already! The staff and students are kind and helpful. The students are eager to learn. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be here and to work with such wonderful teachers, administrators, and students.
